Become a 'Jolly Tar' Sailor
Our ship's company aim to portray the various roles on board a Royal Navy warship from 1805.
If you are interested in meeting the crew, we would be happy to invite you to one of our events. We will partner you up with an experienced member of the crew, who will show the ropes as a 'mate'.

Some of these roles include; seamanship, signalling, cooking, manning the guns, forming boarding parties, keeping watch, pike drill and also taking part in firing displays and battle skirmishes.
Become a Royal Marine
As a Royal Marine Private, you will learn how to perform drill manoeuvres, as well as marching, guard duties, as well as taking part in live firing displays and re-enactment battles.

You might also be ordered to put down a potential mutiny and protect the Officers.

Become a Civilian
HMS Wales is a land-based naval group, depicting a landing party and the Sea Fencibles of the Royal Navy.
We also welcome members who are interested in portraying the lives of civilians. From the lofty rich citizens to the poor street urchins of the early 19th Century.
Perhaps you have an interest in a craft from this period of history, that you would like to bring to life at our events or maybe you like playing a musical instrument; you would be very welcome.
